Customer Comments: Outdoor fireplace. Would like something free standing. It needs a little protection when it’s not in use and to be removed when in use.
Our Comments: The first example below is a free standing screen that can be removed when the fireplace is in use, although there is not necessary to remove it. For better protection, I recommend glass doors or mesh doors. They do not need to be removed, you can simply open them. Glass doors will help protect the gas logs from rain better than the other options. These are all made from stainless steel, but can also be made from normal steel if stainless is outside the budget. Normal steel will rust rather quickly compared to stainless steel.
Approximate Fireplace Opening: 40" W x 28.375" H (Center)
This is what you requeted. This screen can be made from normal steel (for indoors), 304 stainless steel and 316 marine grade stainless steel. Marine grade is the most durable of all and can even handle salt air. Indoor steel will rust more quickly when used outdoors. You should only consider using indoor steel if the stainless steel options are beyond your budget.
Option #1: Single Panel Arched Fireplace Screen in Black. Made from Indoor Steel, 304 Stainless Steel or 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel.
These doors are attached to the opening with pressure screws, no drilling required. They can be made with wire mesh or glass from normal steel or 304 stainless steel. 316 marine grade stainless is not avialable for doors. Stainless steel doors have stainless steel mesh.
Option #2: Arched Fireplace Glass Door in Black. Made from Indoor Steel or 304 Outdoor Stainless Steel.
Option #3: Arched Fireplace Mesh Door in Black. Made from Indoor Steel or 304 Outdoor Stainless Steel.
