The Ultimate Treatment

The ultimate treatment for an outdoor fireplace in an open area like this is a glass door with ceramic glass. Ceramic glass allows you to close the glass doors while the fire is burning. This is particularly useful to keep smoke and sparks from blowing about when it gets windy. Gate mesh backup doors can be added behind the glass for burning fires with the doors open. These are expensive, but may be worth it if you use the fireplace often.
