Our Comments: I assume you are planning on redoing all of the bricks and creating an arched opening. If so, I can have arched doors made in your size in a brass or gold finish from a variety of materials described below. Based on the overall dimensions, it is recommended that you have bifolding doors (4 panes of glass), although cabinet doors are also avilable. Below are examples of the various materials that can be used including powder coated steel, steel with a plated brass sheet metal overlay, brass plated steel and solid brass.
Tempered vs Ceramic Glass: Tempered glass can handle sustained temperatures around 450F without shattering and should be at least 8" from the flames. This is sufficient for closing the doors as the fire starts to die out to keep the heat in the home. Ceramic glass can handle sustained temperatures around 1450F with direct flame contact. If you want the ability to burn continuous fires with the doors closed, you need ceramic glass. However, with brass finishes, you can easily burn the finish even if the glass can handle the heat, so I do not

These doors are laser cut from 3/16" solid steel and can either be finished with a gold powder coat, or they can have a satin brass sheet metal overlay added over the steel. The overlay material is formed to fit over the steel and will have seems where pieces overlap each other.

These doors are made from heavy duty 1/4" solid steel that is brass plated in either satin brass or polished brass. These doors can be made with ceramic glass if you want to burn fires with the doors closed, but the finish may get damaged from heat.

Option #6: Stone Manufacturing DF2G Solid Brass Arched Fullview Bifold Fireplace Door in Polished Brass with Tempered Glass (Only) and Gate Mesh Backup Doors.
Option #7: Stone Manufacturing DF1G-48 Solid Brass Framed Cabinet Fireplace Doors with Floral Casting Trim in Polished Brass with Tempered Glass (Only) and Gate Mesh Backup Doors.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.

If you wish to burn fires with the doors closed, I highly recommend upgrading to ceramic glass. Ceramic glass is $800-$2000 more than tempered glass depending on the manufacturer.
