Mesh Doors for Ventless Gas Fireplace - Project #21307

Customer Comments: Do you sell a fireplace screen that is removable for a ventless fireplace? My fireplace is 32 inches wide and 27 inches tall.

Our Comments: After reviewing the pictures of your fireplace, I can see there is no way to attach a removable screen to your fireplace. Therefore, I recommend having a more permanently attached door added. These can be made to fit inside the opening underneath the existing hood, or made to overlap the opening with their own built-in hood. Below are examples of both options. Because this is a ventless fireplace and all of the heat comes into the room, these must be burned with the doors open, otherewise the mesh will discolor and warp from the heat.

Inside Fit Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle relatively high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is not as heavy duty and rugged as steel or wrought iron, but it is the most affordable.

Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. These would be made to overlap the opening and would have their own built-in hood to replace the existing hood.
