Customer Comments: Hey! Saw you make a comment in a reddit post. My house has a Majestic 36BDVR from 2001. The louver at the top has a failed weld and looks awful. The brass/gold finish on the magnetic fascia pieces also look awful and need a refresh. I'd love to see what you could do with replacing both louvers and the brass fascia pieces in black. I'm not too worried about the rest of the aesthetic matching as I'm looking to keep the entire setup black. Not looking for anything fancy.
Our Comments: Here are a couple examples of fronts that can be made to fit over your existing direct vent fireplace. These attach with magnets and can be made with a wire mesh attched to the back side to cover your glass, or left open.

These fronts are attached with magnets. These can be made with the louvers laser cut directly into the frame, or with removeable louvers that are inset. Due to the configuration of your fireplace, you must remove the entire front to access the fireplace for maintenance. If you must open the bottom louver to turn on the gas each time you use the fireplace, this will not at all be convenient as the magnets are very strong and the front is not easy to remove.

Option #2: Hearth Creations DV Retrim Fireplace Fronts in Black with 1517 Inset Removable Louvers and No Wire Mesh.
Free standing screens with custom louver covers are a great alternative because they are much easier to move out of the way when you need to access the controls or remove the fireplace glass for maintenance. These are made with perforated mesh behind the louvers and can be made with wire mesh covering the glass. They can also be made without the wire mesh, leaving the glass fully exposed.
