Customer Comments: Glass doors brass
Our Comments: We can provide glass doors in a brass color made from anodized aluminum, brass plated steel and solid brass. The solid brass doors are our specialty and I have included a wide variety of choices you cannot find anywhere else online.
Gas Log Warning: You must burn gas fires with the glass doors open. With Vent Free gas logs, like yours, you cannot have glass doors closed when the fire is buring under any circumstances as this will cause the glass to explode.

Aluminum is the most affordable option and can be made in an anodized brushed brass finish. Anodized aluminum does not compare in appearance to real polished brass, but is substantially less expensive.
Option #1: Hearth Creations Profile-4 Aluminum Bifold Fireplace Door in Anodized Brushed Brass.
Brass plated steel is the next best thing to solid brass. Although it can be made in a polished brass finish, it cannot be highly polished like real brass without damaging the plating, so it will never look quite like solid brass and will eventually show signs of rust or tarnish over time.
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans at Stone Manufacturing, the only company that makes fireplace doors like these from solid brass in the USA. These doors go through a 9 step finishing process including the use of a jewelers rouge to achieve a polish unlike any other. With all of the impurities removed, the brass is then treated with a baked on enamel finish that can last for decades without ever needing polish. These truly are the highest quality fireplace doors in the USA, and some of he most expensive.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
Tempered vs Ceramic Glass: Tempered glass can handle sustained temperatures up to about 450F without breaking from heat and should be at least 8" from the flames. Ceramic glass can handle sustained temperatures up to about 1450F and be in direct contact with the flames. If you wish to burn fires with the doors closed, I highly recommend upgrading to ceramic glass. Ceramic glass is $800-$2000 more than tempered glass depending on the manufacturer.
Not all doors are available with all of these glass options.
