Customer Comments: 200 yr old historic home; fireplace opening - 25 inches wide; 27 inches high. Back of fireplace 20 inches wide; 17 inches high. Depth 15 inches. Room is a small library @10x10. Looking for options for an electric fireplace insert. Looked at the Orion and Redstone. Thank you.
Our Comments: Both the Orion and Redstone electric fireplace inserts will be a tight squeeze to fit your fireplace with a custom surround trim. Although the surrounds are commonly made in black, they can also be made from solid brass (at a premium) as shown in Option #3. I included your anchor andirons in the mockups, but you will need to cut off the long shanks with a hack saw if you wish to use them.
Fireplace Opening: 25" W (Front) x 20" W (Back) x 27" H (Front) x 17" H (Back) x 15" D.
Checking the Fit: To check the fit for both inserts, you need a space at least 22 3/4" W x 19 1/2" D. I suggest you cut a piece of cardboard to those dimensions and check to see if it will sit inside the floor of the fireplace without sticking out. If it does stick out, will need to know how much so I can add depth to the surround trim to compensate.
