Realistic Gas Logs for Large Indoor See-Through Arched Stone Firelace - Project #20951

Customer Comments: Room is a wide open. The box is 8’ wide and 5’ tall with an opening 6’ wide and 4’ tall arched. It’s 3-4’ deep and double sided. We just want it to look as real as possible.

Our Comments: I have two gas logs to recommend, both made by Grand Canyon Gas Logs. The Jumbo Weathered Oak logs are the ultimate high-end choice; weighing in at 365lb with 15 logs, with bottom logs that are nearly double the diameter of other brands. These are not for the weak-hearted as the price comes in at around $11K. If that is too rich for your taste, they make a standard version of the weathered oak logs for less than half that price weighing in a 235lb for 15 logs. Because the fireplace is so deep, I recommend adding andirons to fill some of the space. I have the perfect andirons for the job.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
