Solid Brass Fireplace Screen for Traditional Fireplace - Project #20912

Customer Comments: We are inclined to go with the solid brass single panel plain with feet and handles. We feel like we have “enough going on” that we don’t need to make a statement with the screen. We are inclined a coastal area.

Our Comments: The solid brass screens made by Stone Manufacturing are no longer available as they closed their shop at the end of November. The Hearth Creations PW-SB is the only other solid brass fireplace screen I am aware of, that is still custom made in the USA. Solid brass screens are almost always used in conjunction with brass andirons. I included several mockups featuring some incredible solid brass andirons I purchased from Stone Manufacturing just before they closed their shop. This is a great opportunity to buy one of the last solid brass andirons they made in the USA.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
