Customer Comments: Dimensions are 42" high at the top, fireplace floor is 19.5" from the ground, 29" wide. I don't know how to affix doors or a screen to the inside since it's tile.
Our Comments: Because the stones are irregular, glass doors or mesh doors with frames will need to fit inside the stones and the gaps will need to be filled with mortar to create a finished look. Most of my customers are able to do it themselves and I can walk you through the process. The curtain screens do not require this. I have created mockups of several options, all made from materials designed for outdoor applications. Glass doors are great for outdoor fireplaces because they allow you to have a fire when it is windy without having smoke and ashes blowing around. If you choose glass doors, ceramic glass is the best choice since it can handle higher temperatures and more thermal shock (rapid temperature variations).
Tempered vs Ceramic Glass: Tempered glass can handle sustained temperatures up to about 450F without breaking from heat and should be at least 8" from the flames. Ceramic glass can handle rapid thermal shock with temperatures up to about 1450F and can have direct contact with the flames. If you wish to burn fires with the doors closed, I highly recommend upgrading to ceramic glass.

For outdoor fireplace, the header bar and mesh curtains are made from stainless steel with a powder coat finish on the header bar. The bottom bar is recommended for fireplaces raised off the floor to help prevent logs and ashes from rolling out of the fireplace.
Option #1: Outdoor Fireplace Mesh Curtains with Stainless Steel Header Bar, Bottom Bar and Mesh in Black.
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #2: Design Specialties Stiletto Aluminum Cabinet Outdoor Fireplace Door in Black with Tempered Glass (only) and Gate Mesh Backup Doors.
These doors have a stainless steel frame with stainless steel mesh painted black. We can also have glass doors made similar to this. The only difference would be visible hinges on the glass door frames.
Option #3: Hearth Creations Stainless Steel Outdoor Firelpace Mesh Door in Charcoal Gray.
These heavy duty doors are hand crafted by a skilled blacksmith using 1/4" thick wrought iron with a rust resistant zinc coating applied before the final finish. Extremely rugged and durable.
Option #4: Hand Crafted Zinc Coated Wrought Iron Bifold Outdoor Fireplace Door in Burnished Black with Tempered or Ceramic Glass and a Single Gate Mesh Backup Door.
Option #5: Hand Crafted Luxe Industrial Zinc Coated Wrought Iron Cabinet Outdoor Fireplace Door with Woven Handles in Vintage Iron with Tempered or Ceramic Glass and a Single Gate Mesh Backup Door.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
Tempered vs Ceramic Glass: Tempered glass can handle sustained temperatures up to about 450F without breaking from heat and should be at least 8" from the flames. Ceramic glass can handle sustained temperatures up to about 1450F and be in direct contact with the flames. If you wish to burn fires with the doors closed, I highly recommend upgrading to ceramic glass. Ceramic glass is $800-$2000 more than tempered glass depending on the manufacturer.
Not all doors are available with all of these glass options.
