Customer Comments: Outside fireplace needs screen door that can be removed.
Our Comments: A Free standing screens with doors that is easily removable may not be practical for your fireplace due to the short ledge. We cannot make the legs long enough for the screen to be stable when the doors are open, so it would need to be attached at the top (not easily removable). Below are some options for your consideration.
Tempered vs Ceramic Glass: Tempered glass can handle sustained temperatures up to about 450F without breaking from heat and should be at least 8” from the flames. Ceramic glass can handle temperatures up to about 1450F and can have direct contact with the flames. If you wish to burn fires with the doors closed, I highly recommend upgrading to ceramic glass.

Option #1: Hearth Creations Stainless Steel Single Panel Arched Outdoor Fireplace Screen in Textured Black. This is easily removable.
Option #2: Hearth Creations Stainless Steel Arched Outdoor Free Standing Fireplace Screen in Black. Requires Top Clamps for Stability, so it is not so easy to remove.
These must be attached, but are much sturdier and better built than free standing options. They can be made with just mesh doors or you can have glass doors with gate mesh backup doors behind the glass. Ceramic glass doors are beneficial when it gets windy as they allow you to continue burning the fire with the doors closed to prevent sparks and smoke from flying about.
Option #3: Hearth Creations Stainless Steel Arched Outdoor Fireplace Attached Screen Door in Charcoal. Attaches with pressure screws, so it can be removed, but not easily. Available with tempered or ceramic glass.
#1 Recommendation!
Option #5: Hand Crafted Wrought Iron Craftsman Style Arched Outdoor Fireplace Bifold Attached Screen Door in Distressed Natural Iron. Bolted in place with masonry anchors (not easily removed). Available with tempered or ceramic glass.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
