Custom Fireplace Glass Doors - Project #20501

Our Comments: Per our phone converation, here are some options for fireplace doors with a very minimal frame that can be intalled with black pebble stone facing. Each of these can be installed before or after the stonework is done. Before is preferable for a more finished look. Option #2 is an exception and should be installed first.

Important Note: All of the mockups show the doors closed, but they must be open when the gas fire is burning. Unfortunately, I cannot create the mockups showing the doors open with the gas fire, so please be aware this is incorrect.

Affordable Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Medium Range Steel Doors

Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable.

Elegant

High End Minimal Doors

These doors are the most minimal on the market. There is a angle iron with just the edge showing at the top and bottom that holds the hardward for the glass. The glass is 3/8" thick for look of dinstinction and elegance.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
