Custom Fireplace Glass Doors - Project #20498

Customer Comments: Mother's Day gift for my wife's first Mother's Day! This has burning fireplace is in the foyer to our master bedroom. Open to ideas and suggestions, but as a starting point was thinking clusters of Edelweiss flowers intertwined on vines with an enamel/antique style picture of her favorite cat in the center towards the top. Brass/bronze as base color. We'll add an inscription engraved on the bottom cross bar. I’ve attached the photos requested and also a potential rendering of one design.

Our Comments: The first mockup represents how we can closely replicate your design using laser cut steel with an enamel finish. The others are ideas using available solid brass components that are available in a variety of finishes and patinas. Some of the mockups show the cat with your original creme colored background and others with black.

Your pattern can be replicated using laser cut steel in a baked enamel brass or gold finish with hand polished brass accents in the flowers. The porcelain cat is shown with a decorative solid brass casting trim.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
