Customer Comments:
Our Comments: Here are the two types of glass doors we discussed over the phone. Aluminum and Stainless Steel. I highly recommend ceramic glass for this application if your intent is to burn a fire with the outdoor side closed.
Fireplace Opening:
Inside: 32 1/8" W x 20 7/8"
Outside: 32 5/8" W x 20 3/4" H
Aluminum is less expensive than stainless steel. This manufacturer can produce ceramic glass with clean edges, so you can have bifold, cabinet or single doors with ceramic glass on the aluminum frame.
Ceramic glass must be fully framed with this brand as the edges of the ceramic glass are rough. The outdoor side can be made with a single ceramic glass pane with no obstruction of the view. If the inside has bifold tempered glass, you must have the inside open when the fire is burning. We do not recommend burning any gas fire with both sides closed anyways.
Option #3: Stainless Steel Fireplace Doors with Singe Ceramic Glass Door on Outside and Bifold Tempered Glass Inside. Inside must be open when fire is burning.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.

Photo #2: With your back to the fireplace, take a picture looking straight out into the room so we can see the decor directly in front of the fireplace.
