Customer Comments: Requesting Quote for Fireplace Screen (Single Panel) for my ext'g Fireplace - Opening Size 38" x 38" / Screen Size = 40" x 40" ??
Our Comments: Because the fireplace is raised off the floor, we cannot add feet to the backside of the screen. The screen cannot stand on its own when moved away from the fireplace. With this in mind, we created mockups showing various options we recommend that are more convenient.
Fireplace Opening: 38" W x 38" H
Option #1: Hearth Creations Free Single Panel Screen with Traditional Legs in Matte Black. This is the screen you requested.
Screen doors that are attached to the fireplace are very convenient as they do not have to be moved away and set aside when tending a fire. You simply open and close them.
Option #4: Hearth Creations Flat Steel Cabinet Mesh Door with Wrought Iron Scroll Pattern in Matte Black.
Option #5: Hearth Creations Flat Steel Single Panel Mesh Door with Overlaying Bifold DXF-20 Laser Cut Pattern Doors in Matte Black. The patterned doors do not have any mesh. They are in front of a single panel mesh door for complete fire viewing when the pattered doors are open.
Glass doors provide the best overall perforance as you can close them when building a fire to make it start easier, open them once the fire gets going, and close them again as the fire dies out to keep the heat in the home. They come with your choice of mesh curtains or gate mesh backup doors behind the glass for spark protection when the glass is open.
Option #6: Hearth Creations Profile-2 Fireplace Glass Door in Matte Black with Clear Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors.
Option #7: Design Specialties Craftsman Fireplace Door in Forged Iron with Clear Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors. You can burn a fire with the glass closed on this model.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.

Photo #2: With your back to the fireplace, take a picture looking straight out into the room so we can see the decor directly in front of the fireplace.
