Customer Comments: Terry, Per our discussion yesterday, here are pics of my stone, outdoor fireplace I'm looking for coverage. Either just screen or screen and glass as appropriate. Also provided is a link to a site where you can see the iron gates my great, great uncle made at St. Michael's Church in Charleston SC. His name was Johaunn August Wilhelm "JAW" Iusti. His initials are embedded on the top of the arch to the gate. Relative to the design of the doors, I am wondering if the pattern on one side of the linked example could be used where each door could contain half of the general pattern so that when closed, it would look "similar" to one side of the original gate. In essence, simply split the pattern in half. Also, not expecting an exact replica but rather a dumbed down, slightly simpler, general feel for the original. Thanks, Paul
Our Comments: Here are 3 mockups using the gate pattern that you provided.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
