Customer Comments: Hi here are pictures of our fireplace. Interested to learn about the options. What's the price difference glass vs screen? Simple design, matte black.
Our Comments: Here are 3 different ways to treat your corner fireplace. There are many options for each of the 3 types, but these are the most basic and simple.
Fireplace Opening: " W x " H
Glass doors are all around the best option because they allow you to block the cold air from coming into your home all night long after you have had a fire. They are also the best for spark protection and safety.
Option #1: Design Specialties Brookfield Corner Glass Door with Left Side Fixed and Bifold Doors on the Right. Shown with clear glass and mesh curtains.
Sliding mesh curtains are probably the most popular option for corner fireplaces because they are often the least expensive. They offer good spark protection and are very convenient as you just slide the mesh open and closed. Adding a bottom bar is a great option to help prevent logs from rolling out onto the hearth. A Pet Deterrent Channel can also be added to the bottom bar to help prevent pets and small children from getting inside the fireplace.
Option #2A: Stone Manufacturing C92 Bar and Mesh with Black Bar and Sliding Mesh Curtains for Corner Fireplace.
Option #2B: Stone Manufacturing C92 Bar and Mesh with Black Bar and Sliding Mesh Curtains with Matching F92 Bottom Bar for Corner Fireplace.
Free standing screens can be made to fit a corner fireplace. In the example below, we use a piano hinge to joint the two sides. Sometimes adding a little accent finish to the handles and hinge can create a more modern look.
Option #3A: Stone Manufacturing 1P10M Two Panel Corner Screen in All Flat Black. Shown with 18003 Wrought Iron Fireplace Tools.
Option #3B: Stone Manufacturing 1P10M Two Panel Corner Screen with Satin Nickel Handles and Hinge. Shown with Matching CT-6H Modern Fireplace Tools.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
