Customer Comments: Hello, We are looking to purchase a heavy duty, outdoor screen for our outdoor living room. We are looking for a sturdy screen that can withstand winds. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
Our Comments: Have you thought about a mesh screen door that is attached to the fireplace? With these there are no worries at all about wind. They can also be made with pyro-ceramic glass and mesh doors, so you can enjoy a fire when it is windy by closing the glass doors. Here are a couple examples.
Fireplace Opening: 42" W x 32" H x 10" H Hearth
Stainless steel is probably the most popular outdoor material for fireplaces since it is more resistant to corrosion and rust than regular steel.
Option #2: Hearth Creations Stainless Steel Cabinet Mesh Door with DXF-B115B Pattern in Matte Black.
Glass doors with pyro ceramic glass are great for outdoors because you can close the doors while the fire is burning. This is beneficial when it starts to get a little too windy for an open fire.
Option #3: Hearth Creations Stainless Steel Pyro Ceramic Cabinet Glass Door in Matte Black with Gate Mesh Backup Doors.
Option #4: Hearth Creations Stainless Steel Pyro Ceramic Bifold Glass Door in Matte Black with Gate Mesh Backup Doors.
Option #5: Hearth Creations Stainless Steel Cabinet Ceramic Glass Door with DXF-B115B Pattern in Matte Black with Gate Mesh Backup Doors.
These doors and accressories are hand crafted by a blacksmith from zinc coated wrought iron for a luxurious outdoor look and unsurpassed durability. They come with wire mesh or tempered glass with mesh curtains or mesh doors behind the glass. You must burn the glass doors open as they are not avilable with ceramic glass.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
