Customer Comments: Hi Greg,We reviewed your website and would like to submit details related to our fireplace to order the correct mesh screen. This fireplace never had a screen. We are remodeling the living room and see below the picture of the wood burning fireplace. Per the web site instructions, we measured the opening. Width: 35 inches, Height: 26.5 inches. We would like to order the fine, black mesh screen and mount to properly fit the opening. We would also like to order a plain bar in the closest color to match the gray stone. Please call to discuss further.
Our Comments: We recommend Oil Rubbed Steel for this application. Also, we suggest adding a bottom bar to help prevent logs from rolling out of the fireplace and bouncing out onto the hardwood floor. Here are a few mockups to illustrate. We included one with matching accessories.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
