Customer Comments: We are looking for bi-fold, clear glass doors with black frame. As you can see, the vertical sides are uneven as this is stacked stone. If that makes glass doors impractical, we would likely go with an inside mount mesh screen.
Our Comments: Glass doors are great for your fireplace. We can tell you how to fill the gaps between the frame and the stones with mortar. The Hybrid doors have no frame on the sides, so they do not require mortar.
Fireplace Opening: 33 1/2" W x 23 1/4" H
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable. Mesh curtains and Gate Mesh Doors are optional.

Option #3: Hearth Creations Iron Age 2 Fireplace Glass Door with Hammered Texture in Matte Black with Clear Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors.
These doors are made with a top and bottom angle iron and have no frame on the sides. They do not require mortar, but they will not seal as tightly as there will be gaps between the glass and the stones. Mesh curtains are optional.
Option #4: Stone Manufacturing HYBRID-2 Bifold Fireplace Glass Door in Pewter. This door has no frame on the sides.
This door is made using a 4 sided angle iron where the front edge is exposed and the angle portion is behind the glass, creating a very minimal look. The two outer glass panes are fixed and the inner panes slide left and right to open and close. Mesh curtains are optional.
Option #5: Stone Manufacturing SD Sliding Fireplace Door in Flat Black with Clear Glass and No Mesh.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
