Revision #2: Hearth Creations Flat Steel Door with 2" Antique Black Frame and Antique Brass Trim with Square Handles. Frame allows for a 3/4" overlap (recommended).

Revision #4: Stone Manufacturing SD-39 Sliding Door with Solid Brass Tulip Casting Frame in Hardwood Bronze.
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #1: Design Specialties Brookfield Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Gold Rush Doors.
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
Option #2A: Hearth Creations Flat Steel Door with 1 1/4" Matte Black Frame and Satin Brass Trim and Handles. This is one of the doors that was requested. However, the narrow frame only allows for 1/4" overlap, which is likely not enough due to the irregularity of the opening.
Option #2B: Hearth Creations Flat Steel Door with 2" Matte Black Frame and Satin Brass Trim with Square Handles. This is the same door as the one requested, but made with a wider frame to allow a 3/4" overlap (recommended).
Option #2C: Hearth Creations Flat Steel Door with 2" Matte Black Frame and Antique Brass Trim with Square Handles. Frame allows for a 3/4" overlap (recommended).
Option #2D: Design Specialties Carolina Fireplace Glass Door with 2" Wide Frame in Rustic Black with Gold Rush Doors.
Option #2E: Design Specialties Carolina Fireplace Glass Door with 2" Wide Frame in Rustic Black with Toffee Doors.
The mockups below were not requested and represent very high end products. We have included them as others looking for black with brass may want to see these options since they are made from solid brass instead of plated sheet metal.
Option #3A: Stone Manufacturing DF1G Clearview Bifold Fireplace Door in Gloss Black with Polished Solid Brass Half Round Doors and Special Graylite-14 Dark Gray Glass. Shown with MT-6 En Garde Black and Brass Fireplace Tools.
Option #3B: Stone Manufacturing DF1G Clearview Cabinet Fireplace Door in Gloss Black with Polished Solid Brass Half Round Doors and Clear Glass. Shown with MT-6 En Garde Black and Brass Fireplace Tools and MAN-4 Calibre Andirons.
These doors also have solid brass components, but instead of having bifolding doors, the two outer panes of glass are fixed and the inner panes slide left and right to open and close. This is an excellent choice for fireplaces raised in the wall.
Option #4: Stone Manufacturing SD Sliding Fireplace Door with Gloss Black Frame and 1/2" Solid Polished Brass 4-Sided Trim and Square Rod Handles. Shown with MT-6 En Garde Black and Brass Fireplace Tools.
Option #5A: Stone Manufacturing SD-34 Sliding Fireplace Door with Gloss Black Frame and #34 Solid Brass 4-Sided Rope Casting Trim and Bowed Handles. Shown with Doors Open and T-1 Revere Black and Brass Fireplace Tools.
Option #5B: Stone Manufacturing SD-34 Sliding Fireplace Door with Gloss Black Frame and #34 Solid Brass 4-Sided Rope Casting Trim and Bowed Handles. Shown with Doors Closed.
Option #6: Stone Manufacturing SD-56 Sliding Fireplace Door with Flat Black Frame and #56 Solid Brass 4-Sided Bamboo Casting Trim and Bowed Handles in Distressed Real Gold Leaf. Shown with Doors Open.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
