Customer Comments: Looking for a soft brass color screen or glass door to make the fireplace appear rectangular, not square. Do not want a free standing screen.
Our Comments: Here are some examples that show how varios attached fireplace screens and doors can be made to change the proportional appearance of the fireplace.
Fireplace Opening: 26 5/8" W x 30 1/8" H
We can use a wider frame on certain glass doors that will change the proportions of the fireplace. Some of these are very high end doors made from solid brass that can be made in a satin brass finish.

Frame screens have sliding mesh curtains. These are all made from solid brass. The Shadow Box is one of the best ways to change the proportions of this fireplace. The Shadow Box is about 2" deep and allows us to make the frame wider than the fireplace opening. We would use a fine weave brass finsihed mesh that can be bunched up on the sides to hide the marble and less bunched in the middle for fire viewing.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
