Glass Doors for Arched Brick Fireplace - Project #10760

Customer Comments: Looking for what the legend arch door might look like in our fireplace. Many thanks.

Measurements:
Left side - 29 1/2; Right side - 29 3/4
Bottom - 35 1/2; top - 35 3/8
Top center height - 32 1/8
Full view bifold doors
Bottom vent
Clear glass
Mesh curtain (if poss would like to see pics with both curtain and black gates)
Rustic black
Also if poss would like to see pics with "tight fitting doors - with 1/2" frame"

Our Comments: We recommend using a 2" wide frame on an arched door for a brick fireplace like yours. This gives you plenty of room for play with a 1" overlap on the sides. We would make the door fit under your arch, so there will be a slight gap at the top that can be filled with mortar or left as is. The tight fitting doors would be made the same way. You cannot use mesh curtains on an arched opening since the mesh would be longer in the center than the sides and there would be no way to open them. So you can only use gate mesh backup doors on an arched fireplace.

Fireplace Opening: 35 3/8" W x 32 1/8" H

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
