Customer Comments: I’m looking for a fire screen. Opening 36 wide 30 1/2 tall.
Our Comments: There are several ways to treat a prefabricated fireplace that is raised in the wall like yours. Free standing single panel screens are likely out of the question as they will look disproportionately tall. 3 panel screens can work if you have a fine weaved wire mesh or shiny mesh that does not allow you to see through the screen easily when the fire is not lit. Other options include glass doors and mesh panel doors. Here are examples of each of these options.
Fireplace Opening: 36" W x 30 1/2" H
Option #1A: TFD33 Free Standing 3-Panel Screen with Rope Casting Frame, Mesh Panel Doors and Fleur Del Lis Ornaments in Satin Nickel with Silver Colored Mesh. This handsome fireplace screen is hand crafted from Solid Brass and is very expensive.
Option #1B: TFD33 Free Standing 3-Panel Screen with Rope Casting Frame, Mesh Panel Doors and Fleur Del Lis Ornaments in Old English (Solid Brass) with Fine Weaved Black Mesh.
Option #2: Brookfield ZC Deluxe Fireplace Glass Doors with Scroll Louvers and Mesh Curtains in Rustic Black. This door attaches to the fireplace face using magnets, so there is no installation.
Option #3: DV Refresh Screen Door with Prairie Window Pane in Vintage Iron. This door also attaches to the fireplace face using magnets, so there is no installation.
Option #4: CFR85-20 Fireplace Frame Screen with Egg & Dart Casting Trim, Mesh Panel Vent Covers and Mesh Curtains. This highly decorative fireplace screen and trim is hand crafted from Solid Brass and is also very expensive.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.

Photo #1: With your camera sideways, take a picture directly in front of the fireplace from far enough away to see the entire fireplace floor to ceiling like this.

Photo #2: With your back to the fireplace, take a picture looking straight out into the room so we can see the decor directly in front of the fireplace.
